Our Story:
From Antwerp to Paarl
The MooiBly story began in 2001, when Luc and Annemarie Wouters, together with their daughter and then son-in-law, took the bold leap from Antwerp, Belgium, to the heart of the South African Winelands. What started as a family adventure has grown into a life’s passion.
Since 2022, the farm has been managed by me, Liesbeth, working side-by-side with my father, Luc. While my two sons, Simon and Joppe, were raised as true "farm children," they are now carving out their own paths: Simon as a product designer in Cape Town, and Joppe following his passion as a farrier in training. Together, we remain a family deeply rooted in this soil.
Authentic Self-Catering Accommodation
Our estate features five unique, thatched-roof cottages, each named after one of our signature wines. Designed with a blend of comfort and rustic charm, our self-catering accommodation is perfect for those seeking a peaceful stay in the Cape Winelands. Whether you are a professional working in Paarl or Wellington, or an international traveler escaping the European winter, our cottages offer a true "home away from home" experience.
Each cottage is fully equipped for independent living, featuring private patios and "braai" (BBQ) facilities where you can enjoy stunning views of the valley. To cool off during the warm South African summer, our guests have access to our refreshing swimming pool, filled with fresh mountain water.
Handcrafted Boutique Wines
MooiBly is a working wine farm, and we take great pride in our boutique approach to winemaking. We produce small-batch, handcrafted wines that reflect the unique granite terroir of the Paarl Valley, focusing on quality over quantity.
While we do not have a formal commercial tasting room or a public cellar door, our estate-produced wines are available for purchase to everyone. For those staying with us, I truly enjoy the personal connection, I am generally happy to open a bottle together and share the stories and craft behind our wines. Whether you enjoy a glass in the privacy of your own cottage or take a few bottles home as a memory, we want our wine to be a special part of your stay.
